Description

Teia is resinous wood or a splinter of it that burns easily. This is the title of the third album by the Bagenca trumpeter and singer Alba Careta; a compilation of his latest compositions inspired by his own experiences that, after the good reception of the albums “Alades” and “Orígens”, consolidates the artist within both the Catalan and European jazz scene.

 

Teia's concept encompasses the different struggles and convictions that form the imagery of this new album: the internal conflicts that we all experience between what is imposed on us and what we really believe and want for ourselves; the experience of understanding that sometimes, intuition and effort are the flame that guides us to find our own path, the authentic one; and how important it is to take care of the simple and small things that surround us and, in the end, become the bonfire that accompanies us, inspires us and comforts us.

 

Alba Careta Group, formed by the best musicians of the current jazz scene, presents on this album six of its own compositions and two widely heard versions of Catalan music of the new song, always faithful to the explosive, energetic and organic jazz that characterizes it.
